Agreed with the above post. Stick with name brands; if you want a good 1/18th scale RC look at the DuraTrax Vendetta, Team Associated RC18 or the Traxxas Slash/E-Revo. All four of those platforms are wonderful to work with and parts are plentiful; both by the manufacture and by aftermarket companies.
As a side note, I love how all of these non-name-brand companies post information then at the bottom something along the lines:

I'm sorry, but around all my tracks, with experienced racers, everyone is using AE, Traxxas, Losi, or Xray, not your Chinese/Japanese/Bee'sKnees knockoff!
