I would first suggest you talk to the coordinator of your local hobby shops carpet races to see what chassis, motors, electronics and other things essential to this hobby are allowed to be used and raced. I would hate to see you purchase a $150 chassis and electronics kit to only be allowed to use it at home and not at the track like you intend to do because it is an illegal setup.
