I also tried out a new technique some turned out but with more practice they should start looking quite nice. A good book I've been reading is called
Mood Ambience and dramatic effects by Joseph Meehan its published by Kodak. Its reads very easy and has really given me some good ideas an explained things I sort of already new, but in different words so it helped me understand stuff a little better.
