Truck Ideas

I found an old truck body today. I can't decide what to do with it. I have already done everything to my other F-150. So, any ideas? Body, and chassis please.

Posting some photos of the body would be a good place to start ;) Once we can see the condition, and what you are working with, we can more easily give you ideas.

yeah show some pics so we know what your working with. and what kind of direction you want to go (i.e low cuiser, lifted, etc)

ok.... now which body are you talking about lol?

pinsk17 03-22-2010 10:13 PM

The blk one. It's in better condition, and I have all the body parts for it.

They are both black. Both look in the same condition. The police or orange? =.=

dreamingISdrifting 03-22-2010 10:29 PM

I think hes talking about the orange-peely one, I think you should go for an allout trophy truck I have only seen like 3 of them

pinsk17 03-22-2010 10:33 PM

Give me a link and I will do my best. Or just tell me what it entails.

Never mind. I have an idea that i'v wanted to try. I'll get started and post some pics once I make progress.

kookieboi 03-23-2010 10:35 AM

i agree with the trophy truck idea. that would be cool and i dont think thats been done too many times

pinsk17 03-23-2010 02:38 PM

What's envolved in that? I can't find any threads that have examples of a trophy truck.

here's an example of an actual one. what i would to is widen the fenders to get the body shape (if your good at that). get the evo truck kit and lift the front to get the right stance with the right wheels and tires and thats a start. thats what i would do anyway....

I like the trophy truck idea but I think it's going to be a little to much work. I have decided that since I am a snowboarder, I am going to build a snow truck.

White and dark blue paint scheme. Body kit, roll bar, lights, custom push bar, and finally the treads. I have wanted to do treads since I got a truck. I have all the parts now I just have to figure out how to do it.

There is going to be four independent treads. The truck will have to be AWD, raised and the axles will have to be wider. I am going to use small Lego treads, and metal pieces from an e-rector set that I never put together.

I am hoping that this works, because treads r awsome and I haven't seen to many trucks with treads on here. R there any?

As I progress with the paint I will post pics, but until then nothing will be added. Patinence will be a key factor in this thread.

Update:

the tread kit is not working out right now, so I will just be doing the body until I get more materials for the treads.

pinsk17 03-24-2010 10:24 PM

Ok. I'm talking about four seperate treads. One for each wheel.

How does that thing turn? Is it possible for it to?

dreamingISdrifting 03-24-2010 11:25 PM

oh.... you mean like mattracks? http://www.xplorermotorhome.com/matt..._200series.jpg

The truck above turns like a tank, it utilizes the tamiya tank tread set, so its pretty much just the set with a different pcb and a truck body.

pinsk17 03-24-2010 11:39 PM

Yeah like that RV. That's what Im going for. I'm trying my best, but it's not working out to well.

GearHeadV8 03-25-2010 07:28 PM

that is going to be insanely hard to pull off. do you have pics of what your using?
