Project: CoxMod

Yes, I will attempt to mount a cox .049 nitro engine in an xmod chassis. I already have some of the electronics, as this will be totally hobby grade stuff. Since i recently sold a lot of my xmod stuff, I'll have to trade and buy some stuff, but i think i have most of what i need.
Ok, starting off, I have an Gen 2 Xmod car with a stilleto chassis. I plan on mounting the engine on its side to be able to fit a body on it and so it has a lower center of gravity. I'll put up diagrams of my ideas ASAP. As for a body, I plan on going BMW. Attached are pictures of what I have in mind. Its a BMW Z4 coupe widebody basically.Attachment 1443 |
So, those tiny nitro engines? Don't break anything :)

Should be interesting. Hardest part will be making mounts, a clutch, and fitting everything on the chassis. I have been toying around with the thought of making my radline nitro. Decided against it though, considering a 1/18 nitro is near the size of the radline. Anyways, can't wait to see what you come up with.

I dunno man, IIRC, those things didn't have much torque....
|
IRC? Actually, I used to own an IRC Vulcan SE. It had enough torque for its size, i was always having problems in the drivetrain (diffs breaking, shafts snapping) because there was too much torque for how small the parts had to be

here is a quick layout idea. anybody see any problems before i start building?
gah!!!! It won't let me upload stuf!!!! |
