WhiteMKIV 08-22-2008 05:37 PM

Is that speedy motor a good motor? did you have to upgrade FETs?

KITT222 08-22-2008 05:41 PM

its good for me, and im not sure if the fets are upgraded. it has an MR02 board if that means anything performance-wise.

Nelly would be the thing in the picture that says "<3 Nelly" on it. I forget exactly what it does, look it up on atomicmods.

bestdragon2001 08-22-2008 11:13 PM

I think the nelly is an external fet upgrade

Donziikid 08-22-2008 11:39 PM

Nelly is a Woah Nelly. It is an external FET board manufactured by Ph2t. The Nelly I have on the Z outperforms a stack of 5x2 upgraded FETs while the Stacked Nelly will outperform a 10x2 stack of upgrade FETs.

Is it worth throwing on my MR-01?

If you wish to run a hotter motor than your stock FETs will allow and you can both find and afford one, then yes, by all means, get one.

If i wanted to get a lithium upgrade would i have to upgrade my FETS

2wdpancar 08-23-2008 11:38 AM

No, but... I've heard mixed reviews and most people stray away from lithium, due to crazy amounts of servo jitter. The boards would need a 5v regulator, and this only adds weight. Upgrade your chassis, then motor/fets. These weren't made to be speed demons, but track racers.
Now, the mr01 servo parts are hard to find, I had to assemble a mr01 servo like 5/6 times, but I think atomicmods has the gears. It's just not worth it.
