Official Computer Discussion Thread

To not clog up the VRC thread we will start this. Share anything you want about your computer. If you are going to "brag" about your computer you have to have pics to prove it. General forum rules apply to this thread photo-wise and such.

Well I don't know much about computers, but here is the information about mine. It is an HP Pavilion dv1000 2006 Limited Edition.

I have no gaming pictures at this moment so yeah....

Color:
Dark red, slight tint of purple metallic.

VISTA for the lose!
System Properties.

Running a stock refurbished Compaq. I need to upgrade the memory and RAM, but other than that, it's a flawless machine. Sound quality is also pretty boss' on my crappy Sony speakers.

My brother has the same machine, but views his all from an Acer 22" monitor. Talk about flawless quality out of both the monitor and the computer itself. I'm stuck on an old 18" CRT from Sony.

I'll try to get system properties of my father's computer. For a Dell, it's actually pretty nice. :)

I believe ZX9RBART uses a Mac; not sure which one, however.

I have been looking into an iMac. Great machines, use them daily at school.

GFs computer specifications, running VISTA as well:
VISTA GF Computer. It's alright; unlike my brother's computer it's running an HP 20" monitor with Core 2. No lag on any of her millions of games - like Maxis Sims2, that lags every other computer I have ever played it on.

G4 sounds like its time for a upgrade, but i have no room to talk mac mini with G4

mustanglover 03-19-2008 07:43 PM

mine might seem crappy for gaming but when i was at coreys we had to play san Andreas on low quality, on my laptop i can play it on very high quality with any messed up movements and ect...

Whats funny is that we have 4 pc's. 3 laptops and a desktop...3.2 gh on the desktop and 1.6, 1.0 and 1.0 on the laptops and the mac blows them all away on general usage. (the others win on video i guess)

EDIT: this isnt a mac/pc commercial though. Lets get back to what lilski intended this thread for.

meme405 03-19-2008 08:33 PM

Well i dotn have pics, because its nothing special.

Its a 5 year old (i think) Intel pentium 4 with:

-512MB ram
-180GB harddrive
-External operating fan, this thing is a pain cause my comp wont go silent...
-seperate DVD and disc drives.
- it has the top of the line graphics card of that time from NVidea...
-dont know what else to list..

Accesories:

-HP laserjet 1020 printer
-samsung 22" monitor
-benQ wireless mouse and keyboard

The computer was custom built for me by a family friend and came with nice speakers and such which i dont have since we moved but W/e. Thing was top of the line back in the day, costed me a whopping 1900$...

jimmythekid1 03-19-2008 08:34 PM

mine is fine for every day office/internet stuff but sucks for games

Here's my (actually my parent's) computer specs:

http://img502.imageshack.us/img502/2240/comptr7.png

It's 3-4 years old. It's a Gateway GT5032. I don't know what it means... Is my computer good or bad?
