Project:- Irwin
OK so this is another one of my ever lasting projects (really starting to get bored of never finishing anything :))
OK so Project:- Irwin is a monster truck, it runs: Liths IROK SuperSwampers Mostly GPM chassis Custom body lift Custom CLL kit with 8 lights rather than the stock 4. The body kit has been mixed and matched to give me the look I want, for example I have the bed cover fitted but drilled holes to get the light bar. My crawler motor is coming from Dratch and most likely the paint will come from Bondo.... although Surgeon may have an alternate.... Now I haven't really done much on it recently and up until yesterday this is how it looked: http://s250.photobucket.com/albums/g...0/DSCF2950.jpg http://s250.photobucket.com/albums/g...0/DSCF2951.jpg http://s250.photobucket.com/albums/g...0/DSCF2952.jpg Then yesterday my part arrived! Now the new part is something a little special and its going to make you all totally jealous because its a prototype part from Bondo: http://s250.photobucket.com/albums/g...0/DSCF2954.jpg http://s250.photobucket.com/albums/g...0/DSCF2955.jpg http://s250.photobucket.com/albums/g...0/DSCF2956.jpg http://s250.photobucket.com/albums/g...0/DSCF2957.jpg This is a great part, it really suites what I plan the final paint job to be and when Bondo starts mass-producing them you should totally get one! :) [UPDATE] So after talking with Bondo we are of the opinion that to make Irwin into the beast I want it to be it needs a new hood, Bondo recently did this custom one and we think its a winner: http://s250.photobucket.com/albums/g...0/P1010047.jpg Enjoy! B1G. |
Wow man, that looks really good on there.
Your truck is looking pretty darn mean. |

Updates:-
Oh my.... there are so many!! OK lets start with the motor!! The deal with Dratch died a death so I contacted my main motor man REDSXModder and had him hook me up with a 60T armature designed for crawling, I combined that with a stock XMOD can and a set of NEO mags, so that takes care of that.... actually at some point I need to swap in a set of lower gears but using stock it will climb most things as is!! I never did the light bar, just to time consuming to be bother with. I also didn't do the body shaving, yes the wheels rub now that its GPM but with my new paint job I don't ever plan on really using the truck so whatever. Paint.... my favorite part of the truck.... Bondo truly outdid himself and this was totally worth the wait, so how's about a little drum roll before I unveil the champ.... :) http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...0/DSCF3795.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...0/DSCF3793.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...0/DSCF3791.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...0/DSCF3790.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...0/DSCF3776.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...0/DSCF3777.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...0/DSCF3779.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...0/DSCF3781.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...0/DSCF3781.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...0/DSCF3782.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...0/DSCF3783.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...0/DSCF3784.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...0/DSCF3785.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...0/DSCF3786.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...0/DSCF3787.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...0/DSCF3789.jpg So for those that can't tell that's a green / purple flip paint job with scales and stripes. Final modification list is: Blue Ford F-150 Crawler. 60T REDSXmodder Crawler Armature. Stage 2 can w/ NEO Mags assembled by B1G. Custom 8 LED CLL built by B1G. Custom front grille guard built by Bondo Custom flared hood by Bondo Custom Crocodile w/ stripes and scales painted by Bondo in a Green / Purple Flip Paint. GPM axles, upper / lower front / rear suspension arms, springs, shocks, tie rod, front guard Removable bed cover with custom mounted KC light bar IROK Super Swamper tires Custom wide axle extenders Articulation modification Custom exhausts XMOD ESC with Li-Polys and Deans Motor is soldered directly to board with higher grade of wire. Time to complete project is around about 3 years :) So what does everyone think?? |
I think the pictures do not do it justice, obviously. Get some better ones, please! I really want to see the quality of the paint. :)
As I said a year ago, "Beautiful, B1G. ;) Nice work." You too, Bondo. Cheers, Kyle. |
great job!!!! i personally think its done and amazing!!?!?!!! yeah!!!
|
the truck was pretty sweet before bondo got a hold of it and it still looks pretty **** sweet...the prototype piece is pretty sweet as well...even though the project took so long for ya i think it came out really good...good work...
|
Thanks! The trucks look absolutely sick in person!! I finally got my new camera and am still playing with it, plus it was a snow day today in PA so I wasn't able to get an decent lighting.....

That Is Beautiful

I'm lovin' the F-150/project Irwin!! Just one hting that I dont like about it, it has Iroks, there big, good for show, but not really nice for off road looks. Maybe if you spray paint it flat black without primar and clear coat, it may look more liek it has grip.
The paint job must have takin' so long, but it looks like its worth it! I seen this at XMF, and I liked it the second I seen the body. Good job. Edit: I know how you or the person did the nice paintjob, painted it. Good idea, maybe not exactly what I'm thinking, but I know its close. |
Wow awesome paint job on that. It really is a beast!!! ;)
|
thats awesome love the paint on it.....my dogs name is irwin so when i seen "project irwin" i was like wtf? haha
|
Man that thing looks amazing. Im gonna have to get a bondo paint job. I would top everything off by getting some Black heatshrink for the batteries, It looks to amazing to have those babyblue cells popping out at the eye. Mmmm I love it, great truck.
