Servo Problem on evo

I just unpacked my hummer and powered it up. It runs but won't steer! Any easy fixes?

Donziikid 10-10-2007 09:39 PM

Check the servo wires on the EP. Are they all connected, or no?

WhiteMKIV 10-10-2007 09:47 PM

You can also try to turn th wheel's when it is off and turn it either way, and turn it back on and if the wheel's dont set in the middle... then your servo may be dead. but i may be wrong.

Yeah I checked the wires they are good.

Same as what WhiteMKIV said, turn the wheels to one side, then turn on the car you hear the servo power up and visually see it center, if that doesn't happen then its most likely dead!

Of course check all the obvious things first batteries in car and handset, etc, then take it back.

Has liths in it. Motor runs. I have had it for almost a year. They prolly won't return it.

Buy a new Hummer, and swap out the chassy lol ive done that to a few Evo VII's.

Ok when I power it up the servo centers itself. So now what?

live4luck14 10-19-2007 11:16 PM

dude it is probably the steering fets.

Xmodder226 10-20-2007 02:36 AM

This has happened to my Titan too, the servo seems to be dead. You're saying the only way to fix this is returning it?

texan_idiot25 10-20-2007 02:39 AM

Its the easiest option, how new is yours?

Xmodder226 10-20-2007 02:43 AM

I got it late summer. I wouldn't mind returning it at all since its mostly stock anyways. Only part is I don't think I have the receipt for it anymore. ****it

texan_idiot25 10-20-2007 02:45 AM

See if you can return it w/out a reciept (most RS places are kinda loose about Xmods now days...), or just pick up another one (their dirt cheap as is) and just use your current one for spare parts.

Scionbeave 10-20-2007 10:20 AM

i have the same problem with my hummer. so i have a spare one that i was going to switch out the front ends on. i never thought to check the servo.
