help. im new!

ok ive had noob problems with the gen 1 chassy. and i tend to break wires and not know how to fix. but ive done some reasearching cuz i am new to the electronics. but i now have a basic knolledge. but ill cut to the chase.. i wuz just wondering wut would happen or if it worked if i soldered the batt pack wires to a male or female end of a connector off of a board or a stock motor layin around. would it have an effect on the output? and also i have had problems with my steering not bein so good if i dont use my gen after so long. i have one gen 1 kinda working but i dunno if it duz that cuz the servo motor or fets are fried or wut. and right now i have minimum access to ordering new parts. and i could use the knolledge so i know how to do it later down the road.

thanks ND56

EDIT: if it you all prefer pics i could take some tomorrow and post them so you have a better idea of wut im trying to say. i try to explain the best i can

You can solder female/male plugs on to a battery pack as long as you have the correct/opposite plug wired to your board, if you are going to add the plugs between tthe battery tray and board, its kind of pointless, there really is no reason to add plugs unless you are using a battery pack, if you are, make sure its not going to fry your board i think the max voltage a board can handle is 7.4 but that may just be the evo boards. BTW welcome to xmodsource

thanks. and yeah i know its pointless it wuz just kind of more of a practice think with soldering and stuff. but whats the max volts for a stock gen 1? and would it fry my steering fets?

7.4v is it for the Gen 1's. Anymore and you risk blowing the FETs.
