Infraction System

User Infraction Points/Color Codes :

Quote:

Here is a list of the possible infractions you may recieve and their colors wich coincide with the rules.
These infractions are strictly enforced and automatic suspension/dismissals are issued if too many points are accumulated.
REMEMBER, re-read your post before you hit the submit button and ask yoursefl three things:
1.Does my post adhere to all of the forums rules?
2. Does my post help the thread or ask a specific question that hasnt already been answered?
3. Is my post rude or hurtful in anyway?

These points are accumlative and DO NOT EXPIRE.

I think 'playing mod' should be in there somewhere. maybe 1 or 2 points.

REDisFASTER 02-20-2008 04:46 PM

Instead of acting like a mod, people can just click on the little red/white triangle with the black line in it. Report posts, it helps much more than trying to play the role of a moderator.

Looks like it will be really organised and its really thought out but i have one question I don't really understand the Elite characters one can someone explain it for me?

If you see a post that doesn't follow the rules, don't comment on it. Please leave the moderating to us. If you think a post needs attention, simply click the "Report Post" icon above it , and an email will be sent to all the moderators, so something can be done.
Please check the date of the most recent post on a thread. if it's more than a couple weeks old, please don't drag it up unless you have a legit follow-up question.

I like them. They sound fair. I think maybe they should be a bit more lenient, such as:

9 Points = 5 Day(s)
12 Points = 10 Day(s)
18 Points = 2 week(s)
25 Points = PERMANENT(s)

Just my opinion.

it isnt open for discussion.
the points are what they are. if most of you guys would actually read the rules then you would see that they arent all that bad or hard to follow.

25 points should be VERY hard to come by.

"Elite" or "leet" characters are an annoying way of typing that is even more of a pain to decipher then someone typing in IM slang.
fö®Ð §ù>< would be an example.

i also think that people shouldn't "forget" where an off topic thread goes just to guaruntee that it shows up. (ex: they post in "general," than claim they forgot, in hopes that it will be moved to off topic and remain open.)
the OT section was made "thread moderation required" because of all of the porn spam bots.
when these bots register most are set to post in sections called or containing either "general" or "off topic".
we've added an extra spambot deterrent so that should significantly cutback on the bot traffic.
we may just go ahead and open the OT again fully and see what happens.

and i think that all the yellow ones and the first orange shoyuld not take effect until the member either reaches 50 posts, or has been a member for two weeks, because they could easily, literally, forget.
again, not open for discussion.
EVERY member needs to read and fully understand the rules before posting. it only takes a couple of minutes and can save you worlds of trouble in the end.
we're bending over backwards re-arranging the rules and making all of them as easily accessable as possible, the members could atleast bend over forwards and take a look at them.
of course there will be cases of liniency but that is completely up to the mod who notices it.

why do we care if someone ruins their car??
the infractions aplied here are for forum purposes and do not reflect anyones choices on what they do with their cars.

if it took a guy named Texan IDIOT a year to gather 25 points, you guys should be in the clear for awhile......

taiwanesekid05 02-20-2008 06:26 PM

Is it ok if I push the triangle button a lot and report a lot if they might need to be looked at?

Actually, back to 2 points away. Only the infraction that caused the final ban last year was erased from the hack..

Send it once, we'll get on it ASAP when we get the report. Either that, or PM a mod that is online.

 But under the current staff, and the new changes, I doubt anyone will get close to that again.

mini-z drift 02-20-2008 06:38 PM

ok, so I have 11 points already racked up, am I gonna get suspended now?

if you get four more points you will.
this isnt hard to understand guys.
this system is automatic, when you get to the set points, you will be automatically suspended with no help from any of the mods.
basically your being suspended by the forums software.

texan_idiot25 02-20-2008 06:46 PM

You were probably already banned from that before. Unless the points have changed from the last time around. But, if you aren't gone right now, nothing is gonna happen.

I have no problem adding a few more points to your list if you are complaining. If not, well, maybe you should do that thing where think about how beneficial and helpful your post is to a conversation.

mini-z drift 02-20-2008 07:13 PM

Aight, thanks Bondo/texan.

imnotmikal 02-20-2008 08:53 PM

I have a question...
Don't get mad, please, I'm just a little confused.
What if we got infraction points, but they were set to expire. If they've expired, they stay that way right? Like, you won't go in and change my expired one to a permanent one?

Example:
Here are my infractions. So far.
http://img49.imageshack.us/img49/363...actionsbn7.png
Is that going to stay like that?

bondo 02-20-2008 09:25 PM

why would we do that?
the past is the past.
we do however, reserve every right to give you additional infractions if need be..

you bring up a good point though, from now on, there are no more expiring points.
if you get them, they stick with you untilyou are no longer a member, either by choice or by force.

Lowrideit 02-20-2008 09:29 PM

I also have a question, My few... Well maybe more points say that one is private, and the other one is profile infration, What do these mean?

texan_idiot25 02-20-2008 09:35 PM

Instead of hitting the infraction button connected to your specific post (only mods/admins see it), we can also give an infraction with a button in your profile. Thats the difference between a the normal infraction, and profile infraction atleast,

stangdude94 02-20-2008 09:38 PM

how do u se if u have an infraction
