It was the capacitor leading from the negative to positive motor terminals to help cancel out electrical noise. Probably the extensive voltage finally got to it's maximum internal temperature and caused it to somewhat "explode."

XD I need to learn more about electronics XD
Btw you've had the same song of the day since like Christmas XP

To the extent needed for Xmodding, the electronics are fairly simple. All of the information ever needed to be known (well, mostly..) for Xmods can be found on all of the Xmods Forums. All it takes is a little time and dedication to learn. ;)

Changed. Happy now? Lol.

S2k Racer 01-01-2009 01:16 AM

I know, and I'm reading about them.
I have no clue what song that is. XD

kendallcschm 01-01-2009 06:50 AM

im suprised the motor lasted for 2 seconds... if he had ball bearings maybe it would have lasted longer because of less friction...

S2k Racer 01-01-2009 03:55 PM

I'm betting it was a stock motor.
Wouldn't it have gotten hot really fast?

okoye 01-23-2009 02:26 PM

its not a stock its one of the upgrade ones not sure if its stage one or stage 2

Stage one is stock, stage two is upgrade.
It's obviously stage two...

xmodzracer 01-23-2009 04:22 PM

they made a stage one upgrade kit for a while too. It had all the gearing/motor options as the stage two.

imnotmikal 01-23-2009 05:50 PM

Ahh nuts.
Lol, you got me.

Now that I think about it, I even have one NIB for Gen 1, with all my xmods crap. (Didn't they only make the Stage 1 upgrade for Gen 1?)

Anyway, it still says "gen 1 stage 2 xmods motor" at the beginning of the video.
