We need one now that they're back. I saw them today, they're blue instead of green. $79

taiwanesekid05 11-21-2008 12:58 AM

Holy crap, it's true.

Looks like that bundle is only online. They're showing the green buggy but when I was at RS it was an ugly blue color. I guess that they really were recalled because of the lead paint. I'm going to see if the store will honor the bundle, but the online bundle is $89 and the car at the store is $79, maybe all those extras will add up to $10 anyway, I'll have to go see. And the truck body is now black.

xmodkidd33 11-21-2008 12:39 PM

At my RS, they're selling the dual-motor upgrade for $7.

RallyWRX 11-21-2008 04:43 PM

yeah, I don't know if I want to run the dual motor upgrade cuz I've read that it'll destroy your diffs really quick.

TheB1GDude 11-21-2008 04:50 PM

With all the extra free stuff they are giving you its almost worth it.....

Stampedekid 11-21-2008 04:52 PM

I own one, one of the worst RC's I ever owned. The diffs and spur gears suck. It was fun but I say buy a Micro T or something better rather than waste your money on one of these.

RallyWRX 11-21-2008 05:04 PM

I don't know, maybe if I drive it nice it will last a little longer. I enjoyed my micro T, but I started to break things on it and now it stops and makes a kind of grinding sound, I think it might need a whole new gear box, I haven't checked to see how much they are.

I know they sell replacement gears for the Pro Pulse, are they a pain to fix?

taiwanesekid05 11-21-2008 06:21 PM

Huh, that's odd. Last night it wasn't a bundle...

FloydfanYodaman 11-21-2008 09:45 PM

I have 3, they rock, they have outlasted, outrun, and outperformed my losi mlst2(garbage) and the mini baja and i have had the propulse 6 months longer... i got 2 of mine during a sale for 50 each and the 3rd was a fully upgraded freebie... as far as i am concerned these are the coolest things to have fun and beat the heck out of without having to break the bank...sorry for the rant just my humble opinion...i'll see if this rookie can figure out how to post some vids for the fun of it...good idea for a thread by the way...

lol 11-22-2008 12:35 AM

nice. im about to get a referbished propulse. it has a warranty for it and if i see any cracks or damage.. off it goes..

RallyWRX 11-23-2008 01:17 AM

did you have the problem of rocks in the gears? Did you tape the hole on the bottom of the chassis? I'm excited to get a buggy, but my wife says I have to sell some of my xmods to help pay for it. It'll also be a chritmas present.

I don't want to open the hobby grade discussion again, but I just want to say, when I went to my hobby shop and showed them my Sportwerks Raven buggy, I mentioned I use it for bashing but I might like to take it to the track someday. Then I said I might get an Associated B4 or B44, and the dude said if I do, don't bash them, only drive them at the track, they're too fragile.

The biggest thing for me about something that I consider to be hobby grade is if it tracks straight. More than half of my xmods tracked horribly out of the box and couldn't be adjusted well enough to track straight. I should have returned them. Oh well.

EDIT: (20 minutes later)

So check this out, so I told you that RS website has both ProPulse and Megtech, which as far as we know are the same thing. The price has been fluctuating on the ProPulse, but a couple of days ago, the Megapro was $150. Now it's on sale for $109 with the regular price listed as $129.99. They must just be trying prices out to see what people are willing to pay, this recession business has got everyone all in a dither.

Checks it out.

I disagree. My MLST2 smokes my PP(if the PP still worked) but the PP has a better, less junky servo. I may stick that into the MLST2 if it fits. My Micro DT smokes it too(even thought its BL). I don't get how so many people have problems with Micro T's. Here's what I do to mine(I will post vid at end). My PP would have broken under that much abuse. I hate the diffs on the PP, they suck. The fact how I am on my second one(traded back first one) and how it will not work is just sad. I'd save up your money for people who want a good RC and buy a Duratrax Vendetta, Associated RC18T or for bigger scale, Traxxas Slash, Traxxas Stampede/Rustler, Losi XXX-T, Losi 1/10 DT(Slash is better performing), or just buy a Losi Micro, those can handle just about anything you dish out at them. Sure mine breaks a lot because I have BL in it and mine doesn't see the easy life.

Here's the video as promised. Sorry for the ranting I just do not want people buying these pieces of crap and wasting their money. Sure an RC18 or Vendetta are more expensive but they come with everything and are better built.

They do. The absolutely annihilate and melt the differential into plastic shavings.

But it is such a god-awful fun time doing so.

Buy some RC18T ring and pinion gear sets, and superglue the whole thing tight into a locked diff. Skip the buggy and buy the truck body. It protects the shock towers. Never busted a shock tower in a wreck.

lol 11-28-2008 01:23 AM

k, im getting one new tommorow. any suggestions? Tips? Pre-Cautions? I just want to make sure. I Got a 10% off coupon for it :)

EDIT: 100th Post. :O I'll been here for a while and only 100 lol.

xmodificationer 11-28-2008 01:38 AM

They suck. They are just cheap. I have gone through 6 shock towers on my T100. Its just the biggest piece of **** I have ever owned. I ended up throwing it away.

blue504life 11-28-2008 11:06 AM
