How To: Using lego tires for trucks
Ok here is the tutorial on how to use the lego technec tires like these http://cgi.ebay.com/Good-lot-of-LEGO...12QQrdZ1QQcmdZ a evo truck.
Tools needed: hammer, flat head screw driver, small file, needle nose pliers, super glue, hot glue gun and hot glue a set of stock evo truck rims First what you need to do is hollow the center the wheel out so we can fit the stock wheel in it. use the hammer to hit the flat head to chizzle and break away the plastic inside. http://www.xmodsource.com/gallery/fi...carshop006.jpg then file off any extra plastic, its should look like this. http://www.xmodsource.com/gallery/fi...carshop007.jpg http://www.xmodsource.com/gallery/fi...carshop008.jpg now get the stock evo truck rim ready to glue. http://www.xmodsource.com/gallery/fi...carshop009.jpg next put a very small amount of duct tape on the part of the rim that will go inside the lego wheel (we are making it thicker so it will not wobble when its done.) then make a seal of super glue inside the lego rim where they will make contact. it should look like this http://www.xmodsource.com/gallery/fi...carshop010.jpg let its dry about 1-2 min then make another seal around the outside with hot glue to seal the outside. now let that dry and its all done. now repeat with the 3 remaining wheels. NOTE: this will not work on a stock truck because of the added weight. i recomend awd and a motor with neos. |
link dosent work....now im gunna have a set of monster truck tires and offroad tires..(napoleon dynamite)Yesss!!!!
yea this is a pretty popular tire cuz it works so well. i think it works ok if u just drill out the center. imma gonna paint them chrome to look better with the truck. I wish lego would sell the wheels by themselves.
im going to toysrus today to find them
napoleon dynamite haha (gosh!) im not sure if they still sell these any more i hope, but these are from an old set.
