Looks a great start too a new project. Also, doesn't the tail lights come off of the skyline? I would check but my two skylines are in a box & I don't feel like gettting them out.

Songha 08-03-2010 09:55 PM

@ Bananabrain: Yes sir they do. I just filled it with putty cause I don't wanna spray a bunch of red into it.

Kot 08-03-2010 09:56 PM

make sure that putty doesnt stick! LOL. im interested to see how it turns out :)

Songha 08-03-2010 09:59 PM

@ Flipsoulja: Haha, it's only poster putty. It'll be a bit annoying to get out but it comes out.

pinsk17 08-04-2010 12:44 AM

Looks like a sick project, can't wait to watch the progress. Keep us posted! :)

Songha 08-04-2010 03:33 AM

R34's usually have that Flat black front lip. Maybe you should find some flat black paint and go over the lip.

Example: http://www.usedskyline.com/images/r34.jpg

See the bottom of the air dam there?

OMG so nice!! Really clean paint lines, great job!

Hey Kaze, I've actually seen some that don't have that lip part painted, but most have it painted. Not sure if they're different between the years but the one in Fast and Furious (the new one) didn't have that lip painted.
http://i929.photobucket.com/albums/a...lueskyline.jpg

And heres another but the lip is partially painted.

http://a332.g.akamai.net/f/332/936/1...yline2.500.jpg

but adding a lip on the red car would look very nice :)

EDIT: whoa! this pic is huge, i'll resized it real quick with photobucket in a min lol

Bananabrain 08-06-2010 07:24 PM

Nice job on the paint. Looks really good.

FloydfanYodaman 08-06-2010 09:59 PM

hey man that came out great...congrats...you should be proud...

poster putty dont fail me now...LOL

Songha 08-06-2010 11:27 PM

@ Kaze&White Charisma: It was black. I just forgot to mask it up. LOL. I have a bottle of testors paint I used for the wheels, they may work.

@ Bananabrain: Thanks!

@ FloydfanYodaman: It hasn't failed me yet. LOL. Poster putty ftw.

I'm thinking of building my own Skyline engine from pictures I'll search for on Google or something.. with, I guess, putty or something. Let me know what'll be good since it'll probably only fit the upper half. LOL. And doing the hood, hinge in the front. That gives me 3 things to add on. 1. Front lip; 2. Engine; 3. Hood;

Lastly, I'd be happy to hear some more ideas!

Bananabrain 08-07-2010 09:43 AM

I think you can find a skyline motor in a model kit, not sure witch one but there are a few members on here who have done that, I would check ebay, might be able to snag yourself a Skyline motor.

Songha 08-07-2010 03:31 PM

@ Bananabrain: Yeahh, I was wanting to find just the engine alone though. I don't mind making my own custom built Skyline engine, it'll add extra unique-ness to her. :] Like that video "Is your project a project?".

Any ideas on what to use would be great. I already have red paint for the valve cover and black for whatever else. I want it to look something like this:

You could use some stryene. (I think thats how you spell it.)

xmodsNSX94 08-07-2010 04:22 PM

hmmm that engine looks good, i am putting a dodge viper v10 engine in it from an old model hahah :P looks great man good to see the progress.

liking the liscence plate. how did you do that ?

thanks
michael

Songha 08-07-2010 07:17 PM

@ Bananabrain: Styrene eh? I'll look into that. ;D

@ xmodsNSX94: I have a thread: http://xmodsource.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19420 ; That has a link for the US states though. I used Adobe Photoshop to resize with the view on actual pixels. And I customized the plate on my Skyline searching "Custom Japanese License Plates" on Google. LOL. Oh yeah, you can't save the picture of the Japanese plate you make, so "Prt Sc" it, paste into Adobe or Paint. "Prt Sc" is the button between "Num Lk" and "Insert".

I got the lip done for you guys, so pretty. Added to updates.

Bananabrain 08-07-2010 07:31 PM

Yea, is plastic sheets that come in different thicknesses & you can use them to cut & stack & etc...to build your motor. Because other members on here have used that too build their own motor. Also I think there is a thread on here or maybe its on XMF? But it tells you what thickness of that plastic is best too use for xmods.

Also the black lip looks really good.

EDIT: here is the link: http://www.xmodsforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=10019

May come in useful for what your doing. Hope it helps.
