What to do?

Alright guys well to set the story I am getting a job this summer and I have a couple things in mind that I want to spend the $$$ I will be getting on, however I only want to do one but I am having a hard time picking which one. So this is where I could use some help, I can either go Short Course and get a slash and mod it, Build a Scaler from scratch, or go full out on xmod projects. It is kind of hard to pick because they are all hard categories but this is where you guys come in ;) , btw for your info i will be making roughly about $700 at the end of summer.

You know what I voted for!

Don't buy a Slash unless you are prepared to do heavy modding. It is one of the worst performing trucks, but one of the most bulletproof. 300 dollars on top of the Slash should get it very competitive.

Cheers!

EDIT: AIM me or PM me, i'll spill you the juicy details of teh \backslash

also dont get a blitz if ur wanting to go fast.. (lets just say stuff doesnt have to be plastic to melt O.o

i voted for a 1/10 scaler.. only because im making one and im the only on(so far) on xms making one(me u and kevin can have a huge discussion about what u should do on aim tomorrow) O.o
my second choice would be short course

I say work hard this summer, make your money and put some aside in a bank account to use later on for something or rainy day :)

I don't put much money into xmods or r/c these days. Most goes into Bills, going out, food, other hobbies and the GF lol

thanks for the great replies guys, I think I might save much of it and spend a little, but hey, only time will tell.

BTW check this guys great offer!!!! Apparently Tower Hobbies must have had a typo and their nitro king is only $99!!! The typo was $220 instead of $22.
get your Nitro King RTR while its $99!! Found it on Tower Hobbies like 3 minutes ago while I was browsing their stuff. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...I=LBB252**&P=1

This reminds me of my last summer. I had a part time job as a fry cook at Edo, and made around 3k at the end of the summer. Since this was the first time I had so much money at my disposal without anyone controlling it, went a little overboard and spent 3/4 of that money on brand named clothing along with my friends... Sorta regret doing that, as I could use some money to start saving up for a 1:1 car. You could spend a bit of it to reward yourself, but don't go all out

Brand name clothing? What are you.. female? :eyecraz: I would never spend over 500 dollars on clothes, plus I wear school uniform. Who the hell would care.

Lol... no. I just liked the way they looked, and there was nothing else to buy at that time. Hate to say it, but yea it does grab SOME attention (not that you would care though :p) But hey, we all have a different way of spending our money right?

lol 06-19-2010 12:23 AM

oh yeah? I grab ALL attention in my uniform. Take that! I spend my money on food and RC, nothing else.

i think he meant describe it

IMO:
its the evolution of Stadium Truck Racing

its scale looks(almost)+stadium trucks=SC

i really dont like it much for racing, but for looks, its pretty fun to build

But someone from another forum(idk who) described SC racing as Stadium Truck Racing with 1/8 Bodies
