rear straut bar

Does anyone know who makes or sells a rear straut bar for the Gen 1.

XI ones can be used for both front and back

Kaze 12-29-2009 08:56 PM

Additionally, I believe XI still sells adjustable front and rear strut bars for Camber

bosco72 12-29-2009 08:59 PM

i checked they only have a front one no more adjust.. one....Im getting my Gen 1 back with a mini z board, a better servo, lipos and a carbonfiber chassis from xxxmod and i would like to have one.

front one works with back, or make your own from a credit card

aquaman 12-29-2009 09:20 PM

honestly, you can make one with a paperclip and some wire cutters really easy.

Old pic, from early '09. I bet its a lot more dirty now. One of the racers from our Xmods of Tulsa group hasn't cleaned his car in 3-4 years. Before each race he squirts some fresh lube on the necessary areas. Races the same car, with same OEM components from his original purchase in 2003!!!

these really need strut bars? hmm.

XMDrifter 12-29-2009 11:45 PM

i doubt it needs it really. just use a soft-spring monoshock with 2 soft-spring regular shocks, and you'll have good enough rear control

Or go whole goose with rear cantilever delete.

I actually perfer to run without it..... It does not allow both rear wheels to compress at the same time, you'd be better off keeping a stock suspension and just adding a evo shock over that IMO.

^ yeah. i like the handling better without the strut bar on the gen. 1's.

Forget everything else you see, I'm referring to the rear shock/cantilever setup in this pic. I really like this idea. Not sure how real-world functional it would be, but I'd like to try it.

Not to thread jack, but any reviews from those who've modded regarding the REAR CANTILEVER DELETE?
