Desoder all the wires from the board. NOTE: important remeber there position, (i didnt as you can see if you have a shrap eye, i put the black and white wires backwards)

Remove the old chrystal

Take the old evo board and unscrew then remove the chrystal plug.

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...e/GEDC0346.jpg

Cut a little from the two tabs on the chrystal tabs so the will sit flush with the board.

There is an existing hole on the new board where you should screw the plug onto. Then where the two tabs of the plug hit the silver pads where the chrystal was, put some soder to connect the two.

Reinstal the board making sure you put the wires where they belong.

Cut out the cover for esay access to the chrystal.

And tada!

very nice tutorial! and you might want to use a 15 watt iron so nothing gets fried, i dont know what the stock board can take but its nice to be safe.

the plug came from the older style xmods evo's you have to have afried board or uy a fried board in order to get it

XMDrifter 12-14-2008 02:48 PM
