how did you get those truck rims to fit on the police car

imnotmikal 01-14-2008 10:00 PM

I put car tires on the slammed rims, which are much thinner than the ones that came with the rims.
there wasnt really any modification done to the body or chassis to make them fit, but I will be shaving the body a bit around the fender because it rubs when it turns.

I'm going to take pics of the progress, but no one will see them until the whole thing is done.
I'm going to take pics, and then when its done, complie them all into one thread for you guys.
When I'm about half-way through a project, I'll take a pic of it and post it up as a teaser.

fordman239 01-15-2008 12:30 PM

looks like you already started the barricade project, as the door handles are shaved, at least thats what it looks like. i def. want to see that bronco project, i love fords, and most commonly, truck, which i have 3, but if you dont mind me asking, where did you get the bronco model kit?? i would like to buy one, but have no clue where. anyways, lookin good withthe projects, and i may have an idea with the 67 camaro... but i think the original bumblebee was a 71 or 72... but hope the projects go nice for ya.

Same here. Yeah Knvicted, same with my Bumblebee and those wheels. Still ran though. I have a feeling what is gonna happen to Barricade. ;) Cheerwine Scion, looks and sounds like a good project.

Most people just ruin the suprise and post pics during the build, but I decided to take pics all the way through, and only post one about half way through, to build suspense.

Who would have guessed you love Fords? I don't like them, but I couldn't find a Blazer model. The Bronco has the exact wheelbase as a Hummer chassis so there wasnt much modification needed, just mounting.
Yeah, I shaved the handles, and filled in the light bar holes, and spoiler holes.
I got the Bronco body at Hobby Corner, but I've seen it at Hobby Town USA alot, and if you cant ifnd it, im sure TowerHobbies has it online. Its an '81 model.
The original Bumblebee was a 77, but it should still look good.

Thanks, the Cheerwine Scion may not even be finished for '08, since I'm runnin tight on cash. See, I'm starting to save for gas and stuff for when I start driving (about 1 and half years) because I know gas is gonne be a good $4 or $5 a gallon.

firebird 01-15-2008 05:00 PM

Those Projects Look Really Cool, How Do You Think You Are Going To Apply The Bronco Shell To The Chassis? Also What Color Is Cheerwine? Hope The Project Goes Well.

imnotmikal 01-15-2008 05:06 PM

The Bronco is actually already mounted, I'll get some detailed pics tomoro or something.
Cheerwine is a delicious cherry soda, so its red.

SPR 01-15-2008 08:04 PM

so are you going to run bigger tires on your bronco? or the ones that are on it now?

imnotmikal 01-15-2008 10:49 PM

It depends, like I said, I'm tight on cash.
The rims/tires on it are supposed to be temporary, but may become permanent due to low or no cash flow.

I know how you what you mean..:(

imnotmikal 05-08-2009 05:46 PM

So, its over a year later, and how many of my projects got done?
Zero. :)

But look out one of these is actually still in progress, you will probably be surprised by the outcome.

By the way, I haven't really been taking pictures through ever step like I said I would.

Barricade Project = Has been on hold for a while, no real desire to finish.
Bumblebee Project = Never even started, packed back in a box.
Cheerwine Scion = Scrapped.
Firebird = Scrapped the idea, never ever bought is.
Old Bumblebee = Idea scrapped, never bought the shell.
Bronco = :)

xmodzracer 05-08-2009 10:58 PM

lol 1 for 6 isnt exactly good... especially in a years time...

imnotmikal 05-08-2009 11:01 PM

I'm very prone to starting things and not finishing them...

xmodzracer 05-08-2009 11:05 PM
