1/10 Land Rover LR3
 

Here is my Land Rover scaler. I seem to like the LR3 body better than the Rover Sport body.

Here are the specs:

• TLT axles
• MFM Chassis
• High Lift tires
• Axial transmission
• Traxxas receiver and transmitter
• Stock Tamiya silver can
• 25 tooth pinion and 78 tooth spur (speed)
• Tower Pro 995 servo
• Traxxas big bore shocks
• Msonik ESC

Flex shot. I think the shocks are kinda stiff because to get it to flex like this, I had to push down and let go so it would flex. Any ideas?:

My ingenious front mounting points. Since I didn't have the front bumper guard, there were two holes that disturbed me, so I stuck some mounting posts in there and attached them to the chassis, and it works out perfectly!

Same but with Range Rover Sport body. It is high because the roof line on it is lower the the LR3, so the rear mounting posts raise it up a bit.

It is 1/10 scale! :D
It is custom built, meaning I bought the chassis, axles, etc and put it together.
It is in the $400+ mark.

Very nice. Maybe if you switched to a softer spring you could get a little easier flex with the existing shocks? Can we expect a crawling video?

Yea, I guess different springs can work. :D
As for the crawling video, I will try, if I find anywhere to crawl in Florida...:p

I am working on a crawler, and live in texas... Construction sites work for the 1/28, there are usually mounds of dirt, but the 1/10 might need a bit more nature.

I don't know much about the 1/10, but it would be cool if you could do a duel rate spring with a stiffer spring on the bottom half and a more softer one on the top.

That would be pretty cool. Yea, the LR3 needs more nature, like a park or something..

so in total how much was this, i doubt that it was only 400 because i got a quote form my lhs and they said in the 500 range for a stock truck and receiver and all the other stuff just to make it run

Here is a brief summation:

Axles: $100
Chassis: $70
Tires/Rims: $30
Electronics: $100
Suspension and Links: $70
Bodies: $60
Transmission and Parts: $50

Total: $480

ok what controller are you useing??? my lhs onlt sells high end stuff like futuba so that could be why also you need like a 4 chanel controller for the lights and every thingall the nice things that make it look realistic when its crawling

I am using a Traxxas TQ3. A 4 channel is needed with trucks like the Tamiya High lift, etc.

Stang Racer, this is not something you order. As I said, I bought all of the pieces separately, and built it from there.

yes i got that part! but if you bought it all where did you get it all!!!!

Amazing! I really love it. Is it more of a trail/scale rig? Or a crawler? Looks very nice. I knew those were high-lift wheels and tires.

Might want to try softer springs or lay the shocks down more. You should be able to get more articulation from that setup. I am not much for the off the shelf kit rig either.
