How would you add a 2nd Steering Servo to a Gen 1?

I'm thinking of a project, but it would require 2 steering servos on a Gen 1 and I'm wondering how you'd get that to work.

Also I'd need the second servo to turn the opposite direction, would I be able to reverse the wires to have it do so?

i dont know how you would make it fit or convert it for that matter but the wiring is simple. when you have the 2 servos mounted just take the 3 wires from the new sevro and switch the left and right wires over.

So On this image you're saying what?

And yes I'm trying to figure out how I would put a servo where the motor is supposed to go and still have a motor!
It's proving to be problematic, the servo is too big! XD

Pretty much what I'm aiming to do is make a four-wheel steering xmod.

heres a basic diagram iv just done to show what it should be like.

I'd say make an assembly that would allow you to have the motor sit above the new servo and feed the power to the shaft from above. Try some kinda belt/chain belt mechanic to avoid any clashing.

Making a four wheel steer setup on a gen1 is easy. It's the part where you have to stick the motor back in that gets tricky.

Good luck, it's been attempted before, but never finished I believe.

4ws in general on an xmod is easy, but why on a gen one?

Thanks deckerz.

texan_idiot25 is right, it's pretty easy to design, you just make replace the rear or the car another front of the car. But yeah, the motor is going to be a pain. I'm probably going to do something like skv012a said and try to see if I can put the motor somewhere on top of it all.

As for why a Gen 1, It's simply because I'm more familiar with the Gen 1 Chassis, and I think you can breakdown a Gen 1 into more versatile parts than a EVO.

I've had the idea for a while, but I've never put it into action. I thought to have one servo wired up normally, but to reverse the wires on the potentiometer on the second servo.

Haha! I so totally know what body I'd use!
