rechargeable batts.1.2v
 

ok i just got some energizer e2s (rechargable batterys) and there only 1.2v each(normal is 1.5) so im gettuing less power.....bbuuttt to me it seems liike i got more power out of these even though they lack .3v ca anyone explain this? i got almost double the run time i useed to get and what seems to be more power and speed any info or ideas would be great

Although they are a lower voltage they yield a much higher drain rate than regular Alkaline batteries. This allows your Xmod to run faster since more power is being supplied.

hhhmm thats cool lol also i was looking on a few sites like atomicmods and such and on all the batterys they sell have a 600-700mAh what is that? is more better lol or lower better?

The higher the mAh rating the higher the capacity of the battery. The higher the capacity the longer the battery is going to last before it needs recharged.

ok cool im glad you could give this info lol i was confused by this i mean lower voltage but more speend and power..did make sense untill you pointed that out lol i didnt think i would see this big of a diffrence but im glad i spend the money on them (even thogh they take all day to charge )

mAh is an acronym for "milliamp hour." mAh determines the amount of current a battery will discharge in one hour (hence the term "hour").

Say you have a 1000mAh battery powering a motor that draws 1amp. This means that within one hour you battery will become totally drained (dead). However, with the same 1000mAh battery powering a motor that only draws 0.5amp, the battery will last two hours. So, the motor that pulls half as much current will be able to run twice as long. Therefore, the higher mAh rating you have, the longer your Xmod will be able to run because more power is being supplied.

Now, you don't need to worry about mAh ratings as much as you do voltage ratings. Voltage is what kills boards, not mAh ratings. Obviously the most common are 650, 750, 900 and 1000mAh batteries. The highest voltage you can safely use on an Xmod board is 7.2V (six 1.2V NiMH rechargable batteries or two 3.7V LiIon/LiPo cells in series). Some claim they have done 8.4V (seven 1.2V NiMH rechargable) and 9.6V (eight 1.2V NiMH rechargable batteries) but I have yet to see a flawlessly working Xmod at 8.4V or 9.6V. Anything above 7.2V is a risk and should be monitored closely.

great explanation donzi, that cleared up that question for me too. I noticed that the RS rechargables i have are 700mah...what is the MAH of a regular 1.5v alkaline? and would rs have higher mah rechargables?

Just a quick reminder that non rechargeable AA and AAA cells (aka alkaline) are rated at 1.5 volts whereas NiiCad and NimH are 1.2 volts.

To my knowledge Alkaline batteries do not have a mAh rating; mAh defines the capacity of a NiMH/NiCD/LiIon/LiPo battery on a full charge.

If you want a higher mAh you're going to want to look at the following batteries. There are more, but these are the three I use the most in both my Xmods and MiniZ:
GP 950mAh NiMH.
Intellect 750mAh NiMH.
Energizer 850mAh NiMH.

well i heard that more mahs actually do the battery bad

how do you figure that? more mah means longer run times, longer time between charging. did they say why its supposedly bad?

no I cant remberwhere i heard it at oh wait it was from my 8th grade teacher

lol the bad thing about my 850mAh is that they take all day to charge but other than that they give more power and almost double if ot triple the run time so im my book they cant be bad lol

yeah i have 900's and they take FOREVER to charge i put them in the charger one night at 12 and i went back at 6 and they were still charging

lol i think mine 7 or more hours to fully charge lol there 850's there the Energizer 850mAh NiMH they work great but man i get bored while waiting
