New motor
Well my b-days comming up and i want to get a new motor im thinkin bout the Atomic MO-006 Stock R Evolution Motor if there r any ups and downs that i should know about this motor please tell me!:p I have a Nissan GT-R with AWD and the Stage II motor upgrade
I have the Stock R in my Mini-Z AWD and it is awesome. Very fast motor. I have a 2x3 stack of 8858 fets. I'm gonna get the Atomic Chili just for kicks, that is why I have a high stack. I know for the Mini-Z you don't have to upgrade your fets for the Stock R, not sure about Xmods
I dont think so
I dont think so because on atomic mods it says u only have to have 2x1 FETs but 2x2 is better
but that's 2x1 upgraded fets, meaning you'll blow your stock electronics running a stockR
It says that a 2x1 of 3010's (which are in the Mini-Z). I think the one's in Xmods are a little weaker, but don't quote me on that. I believe that the evo fets are stronger then the gen 1's. Once again, don't quote me on that. I would just be careful with it. It would suck if you accidentally fried an fet.
Well im new to xmoding so how much does it to upgrade to 2x1
right now you have a 2x1 of stock fets, the evo stock fets will not handle the stock R so you have to upgrade to the upgraded fets
that involves taking off the stock fets and replacing them with the upgrade pair. it's very tedious and if you just want a fast motor, you can take the armature out of the stage 2 motor and install it into an atomic motor can it isn't neccesary to have a blazing fast motor (it isn't called blazing fast for nothing...the motors will be reaaaly hot after a few topspeed runs) the armature is the "heart" of the motor and determines the speed and torque of the motor by means of the number of winds it has. when speed goes up torque goes down and vice versa. what does putting a stage 2 arm into an atomic motor can/case do? it ups the torque because the magnets are stronger in the atomic motor case. the speed is reduced slightly but not much, but the amount of useable torque (your powerband) will increase because the stronger magnets provide more torque. so really you'll be going faster even though your topspeed is slightly reduced. if you got to egrracing.com, you can get these motor cans for $9.20 and if you're willing to spend 10 dollars more, you can get the same motor case that the stock R uses (M1) |
You have a 2x1 already, but I forgot what kind of fets are on Xmods. There are some people on the site that will upgrade your fets for a pretty good price. Way cheaper then Atomic Mods. The 8858 fets are really good, and really cheap. You can buy them online for about a $1 each. I've heard they are better then the 4562's.

Do u no anyone who will do that.if u do than who
Please remember that you can only name sites at this time. Individual people would be considered "selling," which cannot be done since Voltronzero does not have the required post count.
Cheers, Kyle. |
cool thanx

Atomicmods.com
They have the FETs and they can stack it for you. Can't remember the cost off the top of my head, just head over there and check it out. |
If you know someone who has good soldering skills, I would suggest going here http://search.digikey.com/scripts/Dk...FDS8858CZCT-ND and purchasing some of the 8858 fet's. They are cheaper and better then the one's at Atomic Mods (though I doubt you can really tell a difference in performance between them). If you don't know anyone, then it might be a good idea to just send it in to Atomic Mods. I really like their site (some things are a little pricey) and have heard they do great work. Might take a little while before you get your car back though
Which GT-R (R35 or skyline)? If it is the EVO, then you need the special FET upgrade. If it is a gen. 1, then just buy the 8858 FET's. BTW, you need to buy 2 FET's (I believe it is a dollar for one).
You need for. 2 to replace the old stack, and 2 to stack. You can stack them over the stock FETs, but it's not worth it and won't give you the same gain from a good 2x2.
Try a PNWC 35-33T. Solid mod motor. Atomic Stock R is a beast from what I've heard too.
Also, pattern winding your own motor may be a little harder, but I heard it makes for insane speed.
or you could just buy some neo magnets and put them in a bb can with your stage 2 arm and that would be a very good motor
Also, you could try one of Red's X2 motors if it is a drag car. If it is a touring car I suggest the pattern wound one in an M1 case and FAT commutators (don't have too many or too few turns ;) ). If it is a drift car I guess you should go for a motor with a lot of torque and o-kay RPM.

well, pwnzor, volton hasn't been on for a while, and he doesn't have enough posts to conduct any forum transactions, so you can't name people yet.
so, he can't buy from red. |
