The credit info was encrypted, and PS can't find signs that it was stolen or compromised. They're not coming right out and saying that credit info was or was not stolen. If they do find that it was compromised then they will inform the affected customers my e-mail. Should be back by this time next week.

i know they was hacked by anonymous and theyre rebuilding the network i was just informing the people who did not know

TheB1GDude 04-28-2011 09:35 PM

It wasn't anoyomous and the credit card data is for sale on the internet

SuMnEr_CuStOmS 04-28-2011 10:13 PM

i friends dad works at sony and said anonymous hacked it and psn has no timeframe on the updated psn

xmodsNSX94 04-29-2011 04:53 AM

PSN know who did it, it was a company they were working with ( or something like that)
as for the credit card data, yes it is true, some people have lost there information to the hacker... so Sony advise you all to check your statements and similar documents and report to them anything unusual
No, they dont know how long it will take to rebuild but my guess would be another week maybe even two... you gotta think of it from there point of view.... being hacked is not gonna look good on them for current and future customers, so the rebuild is going to have to be stronger....

I thot they were hacked by people in protest for taking legal actions against that guy who jail-broke his ps3 then posted instructions online?

xmodsNSX94 04-29-2011 03:51 PM

read through this to help understand what has gone on...
http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology...work-hack-sony

it does state that the protesting group claimed they were not involved :)

That is all over and done with - case closed... Sony continue to go on the offensive against hackers but this is an unknown group (not anonymous) who realized that via the CFW they get quite easily get inside the Sony network and cause trouble.... that article linked above is a good read and if that isn't enough there is a ton of news from the past few weeks on how badly Sony treats its consumers...
