Try

-Rcmart.com
-storacingproducts.com
-rchobbyexplosion.com
-hobbypartz.com
-hpiracing.com

That's all I can think fo as for right now man; well and of course your best shot -EBAY.COM-

I'd try ebay before any other place.

i know nothing about planes, but for cars, if ur not planning to race, then dont bother looking at associated, mugen, xray, schumacher, kyosho or losi
i say the HPI nitro rs4 evo 3 is a good strter car, so is the traxxas nitro 4 tec

if ur planning to race
the kyosho v one rrr is amazing around corners and the assoiated ntc3 has nice control at higher speeds

as for planes... idk.. never been into planes

ok just trying to warn you about nitro... it sucks its way over priced to run here's why
1. the engine need to be replaced about every 6 gallons of gas
2. a gallon of nitro fuel is $45 (for the cheap stuff that does not run well)
3. if run on a regular bassis you may mess up your ear drums which would cause thousands of dallors in medical treatment later in life

instead get brushless+ lipo reasons,
1. brushless system can sometimes be a little pricey but will last alot longer then nitro engine
2. about $120 will get yoy 2 decent lipo batteries that last a pretty good while

a) engine needs to be rebuilt about every 6 gallons
b)unless ur running along with the car.. your eardrums arnt gonna get damages... if peole having mowing a lawn as their job.. and arnt def yet... then ur not gonna damage it

for brushless
a) a decent BL system costs arounf $150+
b) lipo requires a lipo charger.. and a decent one is at LEAST $120

both are expensive
yes.. nitro is more expensive in the long run.. yet BL+lipo is more dangerous in the long run
ontop of that.. driving a nitro and driving an electric are two completely different things.. they feel different, they act different

just my 2¢

ok so what sort of scale is best for the ~RC car?
i was hoping to just run it around some pavement and probably a bit of grass?

also if i go onto ebay what do i search for ? im really confused ?

thanks for all the help guys :)

mycrors4 07-25-2010 03:22 PM

if ur gonna go onto some grass, get some type of stadium truck
1/10th scale is the average car/truck and 1/8th would be the average monster truck
something like a Nitro Sport or a Hellfire
the Nitro Rustler isnt that bad either
if u want something 4x4, the RS4 MT2 is pretty good

ur still looking at nitro, right?
what's your price limit?

Richy2316 07-25-2010 03:40 PM

motochip knows what he is talking about and also i would go for a erevo those things are sick but i think electric is better my opinion

i didnt want a truck could i not buy some sort of rally car ?

and as for the price limit it doesnt matter really probably 150£ or around 200$

thanks

mycrors4 07-25-2010 04:13 PM

for around $200... its gonna be tough
for about $130 more you could get the kyosho DRX
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...w-GXR18-Engine

it is 1/9th.. but it shouldnt be a big problem.. its just a bit longer and a bit wider than a 1/10th

for under $200.. all i could think of is the Kyosho Nitro Fazer
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ro-Touring-Car

im not a big fan of the chassis design at all.. but you can always get that and end up making it a rally car(longer shocks, beefier rally tires.. the usual)

xmodsNSX94 07-25-2010 04:21 PM

alright then change of price limit ill make it 200£

even with that price limit.. there arnt any brand name rally cars out there
even with a $1000 price limit.. it doesnt matter, because kyosho is the only brand name company that makes a rtr rally set

as said before, it's either that, or convert a touring car into a rally car, or move into the buggy/truck field

xmodsNSX94 07-25-2010 04:38 PM

ok then if i go for a nitro car, what do i do ? what do i search for etc?

thanks mycrors :)

big help

michael

mycrors4 07-25-2010 04:47 PM

no problem, i have nothing better to do.. my lipos are charging while we "chat" lol
for a nitro car.. $300 limit
for hpi:
http://www.amainhobbies.com/index.ph...&filter_mfr=16

that's their models

the kyosho fazer is really nice for bashing
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ro-Touring-Car
but im still not a big fan of the chassis.. too "bulky" if u ask me

its not the BEST basher, but it can take some punishment
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXGZJ4&P=0
but the ntc3 will be a bit more fragile than the rest
and tower is also having a sale :D
http://www.towerhobbies.com/
spend $239 or more and get $35 off :D

xmodsNSX94 07-25-2010 06:01 PM

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...r-Honda-NSX-GT

does this come with a controller or anything ? i dont know anything about these :P

mycrors4 07-25-2010 06:24 PM

yes it does, whenever u see "RTR" in a title, it comes with everything needed to run
i copied this off tower
"INCLUDES: HPI RS4 3 Evo+ oil-filled shocks, tuned pipe, 3.0cc engine, trimmed
and painted polycarbonate body, tires, foam inserts, wheels, decals
AM 27MHz 2-ch radio, Roto-Start and instructions

REQUIRES: AA Batteries: 12 (8 for radio, 4 for battery box)
6-Cell Flat Battery Pack: For Roto Start
Battery Charger: For Roto Start battery
Track Equipment: Fuel bottle, glow starter
Fuel: 2-stroke glow fuel with 10%-15% nitromethane, 16% lubricant-
Most of the fuels we carry meet or exceed the lubricant content
required for optimum performance and maximum engine life. In the
past, the conventional lubricant content used in fuel was 18%. But
with new advanced technologies, fuels like Red Alert and O'Donnell
for example, have a better quality of lubricants even though the
percentages of lubricant content are lower. These high-tech
lubricants provide exceptional cooling and protection."

hope it helps

and here is a towerhobbies combo they offer which includes about everything u need
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...1p?&I=LZ1588**

if u buy the combo, all u will need is nitro fuel(20% is fine)

where did you find the combo thingy, my computer wont follow the link?
and i am in the UK so i will have to buy fuel from a store over here ?

thanks again
michael

mycrors4 07-25-2010 07:58 PM

if u scroll down a bit it should be a box that says "combos"
and just click on it
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...=LXRSH8**&P=ML

tower also sells fuel, but im not sure how much shipping would be to the UK
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXJM38&P=ML

you can always head down to ur lhs and buy everything there, just call them in advance and make sure they have everything

xmodsNSX94 07-26-2010 04:59 AM

you cannot ship the fuel internationally :( but i can buy some around here somewhere.

and i cannot find the combo thing. on any product? what the ****?

shipping is gonna kill it :( they want an extra 100$ for it. but hey my birthday is soon so lets just pray :)

well i found a shop in the UK that sells one. its the corvette which i was kinda fond off so its no biggie. shipping is free to mainland UK but ehy want
£250 for it with the combo deal which i think is kinda alright for what it is. here is the link to it perhaps someone could tell me if i need to buy anything else with it?

http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?CallFun...n&ItemID=32897

and one more thing does anyone know how many tanks of fuel in a 75cc engine can take from a 1 litre bottle of nitro fuel?

thanks
michael

mycrors4 07-26-2010 12:33 PM

nice find
with that combo, u will need 1 7.2v nimh 6 cell battery for the roto start and ur set

if u have a local radioshack, they sell one with a 2 hour charger for about $35

then.. ur all set

as for the fuel question.. im on my ipod so i cant really do all the converting fast enough, but when i get home from school i can let u knoe
