Cobras can come in pearl blue too

Basicly its my experiment with pearl blue testors lexan body paint/spray, using an ultra-light body like Cobra on my MA to bring its weight down, and lastly improving my MA's handling due to lack of a top weight like a roof w/ glass.

Hooks were not glued in because I will race this thing and they'll bust in first 10 seconds.

I plan on adding 2 lime green stripes to mimic the original look to my liking. I also plan on spraying enamel clear coat when all is said and done to preserve it as best I can(and hopefully not fk up the paintjob that way).

Looks cool. Your Cobra could be polished to get the glossier look, but the quality is great none the less. Nice job.

XMDrifter 04-19-2009 02:49 PM

maybe after you finish up the stripes, give it a nice clearcoat like they use on autoscales. buff and polish, and it'll be as shiny as an autoscale

Skv012a 04-19-2009 03:16 PM

YEa, I'm considering doing that. My only question is whether or not enamel clear coat will work well with acrylic stripes and this lexan blue.

4G63punk 04-19-2009 05:40 PM

i dig your cobra's rims. looks good!

merc3des 04-19-2009 08:37 PM

This is one of the nicest Mini-Z white to color bodies I've ever seen. The blue is fantastic, and it must be kick *** to see on the track.

Skv012a 04-19-2009 08:47 PM

After my lime stripe and glosscoat, it probably will be.

Donziikid 04-19-2009 08:49 PM

Love the color. ;) Clean job.

Cheers,
Kyle.

Stage 2/3, 3 being the clear coat:

matt sti 04-19-2009 09:16 PM

wow, i didn't think the stripe was gonna look good but it's tight.

FloydfanYodaman 04-19-2009 09:56 PM

cool project...liked it before the stripe...lovin the lil dude as well...nice work...porsche is sick too BTW

Skv012a 04-19-2009 10:27 PM

Stripe adds my color combo and track visibility. Let me ask all of you this- stripe color aside, do you like the position and the fact that its only 1 stripe?

matt sti 04-19-2009 10:30 PM

I like the one stripe, it makes it look sexy.

bigez 04-20-2009 07:50 PM

ya i think that it looked better befor the stipe but if it is going to be a race body i will not be on there very long lol
but i do like the blue over all i think it is an ok car

Skv012a 04-20-2009 08:35 PM

I could always add some basic shapes, just a matter of what exactly?

Side note, since I fixed my MR15, this bod on my 15 weighs a mere 165g RTR.

Skv012a 04-21-2009 04:56 PM

And NOW its complete w/ enamel gloss coat:
http://i452.photobucket.com/albums/q...bra-Z-V3_1.jpg
http://i452.photobucket.com/albums/q...bra-Z-V3_2.jpg
http://i452.photobucket.com/albums/q...bra-Z-V3_3.jpg
http://i452.photobucket.com/albums/q...bra-Z-V3_5.jpg

Acrylic silver and lime ran a little due to gloss coat, so now I'll be careful when using enamels and acrylics together(thought that would happen, but testing beats guessing).

I also think that look-wise, it was better more dull, but tell that to other cars on the track ;)

S2k Racer 04-24-2009 03:47 PM

I'm tempted to make my S2k into a rood down but I'm worried about messing it up or making it look dumb since you'll be able to see the inside. Nice job~!
