Brown Yota "clone"
After sold my LC80, I decided that I wanted a new rig. I came across this rare Aoshima Hilux model kit. It was very pricey, but I've yet seen this model kit mounted on the Losi Micro Crawler yet, so thought I should give it a try.
http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...r/P2050664.jpg Starting with this stock LMC, the stock wheelbase line up with the body pretty well. http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...r/P2050667.jpg http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...r/P2050668.jpg |
I like to click on your thread because they always have detailed pictures. :thumleft:

Update: Now that I've got the tranny fitted, its time to move on to the rear axle. Made a pair of leafs and some shackles, now the rear axle is mounted. http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...r/P2130669.jpg http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...r/P2130668.jpg http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...r/P2130667.jpg http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...r/P2130666.jpg http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...r/P2130665.jpg http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...r/P2130670.jpg http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...r/P2130671.jpg http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...r/P2130674.jpg |
Are you going to be doing a smaller version of that truck exactly? I figured with the same names, that was what you're going for.

Update: Got rid of the low rider style fenders.
Before - http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...r/P2140672.jpg http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...r/P2140664.jpg After - http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...r/P2140674.jpg http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...r/P2140665.jpg http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...r/P2140666.jpg Then got rid of the mold lines left on the body. http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...r/P2140668.jpg http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...r/P2140669.jpg http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...r/P2140670.jpg http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...r/P2140671.jpg The stance was a little high from the earlier stage, so I decided to lower it a bit. Had to cut out half of the gas tank to clear the axle. http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...r/P2140675.jpg http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...r/P2140676.jpg Then I made some shorter shackles. http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...r/P2150679.jpg Now for the mock up. http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...r/P2150677.jpg |
Looking good so far! Keep up the great work!
