Looks a great start too a new project. Also, doesn't the tail lights come off of the skyline? I would check but my two skylines are in a box & I don't feel like gettting them out.
|
@ Bananabrain: Yes sir they do. I just filled it with putty cause I don't wanna spray a bunch of red into it.
|
make sure that putty doesnt stick! LOL. im interested to see how it turns out :)
|
@ Flipsoulja: Haha, it's only poster putty. It'll be a bit annoying to get out but it comes out.
|
Looks like a sick project, can't wait to watch the progress. Keep us posted! :)
|
@ pinsk17: Haha, thanks, as of right now I just need to get the primer and paint. Won't hesitate to keep this posted for you guys.
BTW, I updated my first post. All updates will be in there. I thought of a method using "SPOILERS" to hide pictures so you guys won't have to get annoyed of scrolling up and down like I do. Hope you guys like it. I'll being doing updates using "SPOILERS" edited to my first post. For ex. "Spoiler for UPDATE 1 (? pictures)" and so on. :D |

Hey Kaze, I've actually seen some that don't have that lip part painted, but most have it painted. Not sure if they're different between the years but the one in Fast and Furious (the new one) didn't have that lip painted. http://i929.photobucket.com/albums/a...lueskyline.jpg And heres another but the lip is partially painted. http://a332.g.akamai.net/f/332/936/1...yline2.500.jpg but adding a lip on the red car would look very nice :) EDIT: whoa! this pic is huge, i'll resized it real quick with photobucket in a min lol |
Nice job on the paint. Looks really good.
|
hey man that came out great...congrats...you should be proud...
poster putty dont fail me now...LOL |
@ Kaze&White Charisma: It was black. I just forgot to mask it up. LOL. I have a bottle of testors paint I used for the wheels, they may work.
@ Bananabrain: Thanks! @ FloydfanYodaman: It hasn't failed me yet. LOL. Poster putty ftw. I'm thinking of building my own Skyline engine from pictures I'll search for on Google or something.. with, I guess, putty or something. Let me know what'll be good since it'll probably only fit the upper half. LOL. And doing the hood, hinge in the front. That gives me 3 things to add on. 1. Front lip; 2. Engine; 3. Hood; Lastly, I'd be happy to hear some more ideas! |
I think you can find a skyline motor in a model kit, not sure witch one but there are a few members on here who have done that, I would check ebay, might be able to snag yourself a Skyline motor.
|
@ Bananabrain: Yeahh, I was wanting to find just the engine alone though. I don't mind making my own custom built Skyline engine, it'll add extra unique-ness to her. :] Like that video "Is your project a project?".
Any ideas on what to use would be great. I already have red paint for the valve cover and black for whatever else. I want it to look something like this: http://i37.tinypic.com/jrv2ux.jpg |

hmmm that engine looks good, i am putting a dodge viper v10 engine in it from an old model hahah :P looks great man good to see the progress.
liking the liscence plate. how did you do that ? thanks michael |
@ Bananabrain: Styrene eh? I'll look into that. ;D
@ xmodsNSX94: I have a thread: http://xmodsource.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19420 ; That has a link for the US states though. I used Adobe Photoshop to resize with the view on actual pixels. And I customized the plate on my Skyline searching "Custom Japanese License Plates" on Google. LOL. Oh yeah, you can't save the picture of the Japanese plate you make, so "Prt Sc" it, paste into Adobe or Paint. "Prt Sc" is the button between "Num Lk" and "Insert". I got the lip done for you guys, so pretty. Added to updates. |
Yea, is plastic sheets that come in different thicknesses & you can use them to cut & stack & etc...to build your motor. Because other members on here have used that too build their own motor. Also I think there is a thread on here or maybe its on XMF? But it tells you what thickness of that plastic is best too use for xmods.
Also the black lip looks really good. EDIT: here is the link: http://www.xmodsforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=10019 May come in useful for what your doing. Hope it helps. |
@ Bananabrain: Ahh, that sounds nice and easy to use. I've seen that thread before too I think. Haha. And thanks.
Also.. thinking about making the car look like it has it windows down. And making seats to show through the gap. Anyone get me? |
Okay, no updates yet, I do have a short video. Started off and got into the drifting in a circle, then you see my fail. LOL.

lol nice vid
lol btw, i saw what you were hiding in the back, can i have chubaka's autograph???? LOL jk |
I like the part were the cat pounces on the car. lol
|
@ winner: LOL, chewbaka?
@ Bananabrain: Ha, that cat ruined my drift and knocked my spoiler off too later on. Update, I found my CF hood in the closet and put it on. Lemme know what you think. Keep? http://i38.tinypic.com/pqb2b.jpg |
Keep the hood as it gives a nice break in the paint scheme. I love the color choice of this car as it gives the R34 a refreshing look! I am also a big fan of the wheels as well!
|
@ DRFTKO: Thanks for the input. As for the color choice, she's drying. Now she'll have a shiny deep red color better than before.
Update 9 will be up as soon as she dries and get put back together. |
I like the hood, gives a street/drifter look.

|
@ Bananabrain: Haha, yeah. I'm gonna keep it.
@ winner: I know what it is. LOL, nice picture. LOLOL. Update 9 is now posted. I'm sure you can see the paint different. :] |
You can tell its got more gloss too it than before. Looks great.
|
@ Bananabrain: Yes yes yes yes. Haha, I'm just waiting for some money so I can go find me some of that styrene stuff so I can start working on my custom made engine and drop it in. Trying to find a small plastic hinge locally too.
|
whoa I haven't seen your car in a while. It came out great! makes up for the lancer lol!!! Great job man, I LOVE it, your a natural at painting. Nice even coating, keep it up!
|
hm, you plan on redoing the turn signals? perhaps clear corners could look nice.
|
@ WhiteCharisma: Thanks man, will do.
@ Kaze: You're talking about the square thing I forgot to mask right? LOL! I'm not sure how I can make them clear if that's what you're talking about. I do have clear coat gloss. Shall I mask out the rest of the bumper and spray that? |
Small update for the thread, not the R34. I just ordered a 350z bodykit and the oversized spoiler will going onto this Skyline, I don't have a 350z. LOL. Until I get my hands on some other stuff, this Project won't be done anytime soon. Still have to hinge the hood and get the engine.
|
This is looking so beautiful. I absolutel love the cf hood. It's gorgeous and compliments the red paint excellently. I'm in love with the wheels too.
|
@ Osiris19, I feel the same way about her. Haha, while this project is in the works, I'll be working on other projects too, so look out for those soon.
I'm still wondering on how I'd be able to do clear turn signals where I accidently covered them up. |
Nail polish remover? Lol
|
@ Osiris19: I have no idea what nail polish remover would do. LOL. I was thinking of coloring it in a white/grayish color and spraying clearcoat on it. x.x
