He used the styrofoam from meat trays- light weight and floats. You might think about addind styrophone outpieces, (think the boat from waterworld), to support the motors as well as add floatation.

I have seen pics before. I thought about using styrofoam but I didn't have any and the boat piece was my next best option.

Little update: I chopped the side walls and cover down about 1/2 an inch. I am going to try to make a speed boat. Low windows, big spoiler alot of power. I'll have pics tomorrow. Can't post any from my iPhone. L8er.
