let me know if you need some better shots that arent edited to the hilt.

those photos are kinda hard to really see the details of the car imo. to dark or something.

cars looking good!

she said next you better do her new car, her A3.

can i show you something without you getting offended?
by no means am i trying to degrade your work.
i'm only pointing something out to help you.

when you're trying to mirror one side to another, take pictures.....and lots of em.
if you have trouble seeing uniformity then pictures and windows paint can be your best freind.
take some pics of what you're working on and open them in WP,trace your putty and examine the lines.

Thanks :D I'm having a little trouble trying to eye everything out  I'll try to fix that tonight.

The reason why its so dark is because my camera's light setting is set a bit dark. I'll take some brighter pictures later on ;)

no i was talking about the shots of cynces TC. they are dark and to me hard to really get a feeling for the car to replicate it lol. So if you need normal pictures that look more plain and show the car off better so you can see the true design and details, let me know, i can post a few for you!

coming along good man! keep it up!

taiwanesekid05 07-15-2009 05:09 PM

I realized the 1:1's rear was a little bigger than the stock's rear, so I added (a lot) of putty to the rear.

http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...5/6d114ac3.jpg

Once I get this part sanded down to my satisfaction, I'll be able to start on the rear widebody ;)

taiwanesekid05 07-17-2009 05:27 PM

Got some paint (the white color) so I won't need to make a trip to Hobbytown soon ;)

Unfortunately, the people over at Tamiya are screwing around with me by putting EVERYTHING in Japanese. Even the little secret tips in the cap.

http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...5/IMG_7739.jpg

Soo... I did some work on the rear, and I am simply unsatisfied :'( This is how it looks right now... I'm going to have to do A LOT more sanding...

wow thats 1 wide widebody =o

Kaze 07-17-2009 06:52 PM

lol "this is daddy's cellphone..." looks awesome dude but i would have suggested sanding/shaping the putty before applying the fender piece (unless its a mock up). How are you sanding this exactly though, just folding the paper? or perhaps eraser method? If you have a dremel it might help you to use one of the sanding bits to give you a closer rough shape before sanding by hand. PM me if you don't get what I'm saying.

This kit actually looks awesome though, makes me like the tC and I don't like toyota brands at all (including the new subaru designs with toyota influence)

As for the paint... I figure if you know Chinese you should be able to read the kanji close enough... i don't think they vary that much, but i could see your frustration with the hiragana and katakana

taiwanesekid05 07-17-2009 07:16 PM

I typically just fold the paper in half and sand away (the putty dust all over my desk proves it).

I see what you're talking about when you say Dremel it down to the rough shape then sand it to what shape you want.

Here tiwanese kid i found out what the primer says but it is a LOOSE translation.
Make sure model surface is clean and dry before spraying primer. Be sure to have plenty of ventilation, this stuff stinks and can make you loopy. Hold can 8-12 inches away from model. Spray with light coats, allow to dry between coats.
It looks good man.

No, I'm choosing white ;)

I got the wheel wells cut out :D

http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...5/IMG_7759.jpg

The rear is a little off, so i'm off to reshape that.

http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...5/IMG_7761.jpg

And after a few hours of reshaping, I've got the rear fenders shaped so it curves to the back instead of simply being straight. So I taped dat *** up XD

http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...5/IMG_7751.jpg

taiwanesekid05 07-23-2009 10:27 PM

Well, got some work done on the front end ;)

http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...5/IMG_7778.jpg

Obviously I'm still working it out.

http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...5/IMG_7779.jpg

Shaved down the rear end to curve it so its not so wide in the rear.

TopNotchStoner 07-24-2009 10:06 PM

nice work so far keep it up

taiwanesekid05 07-28-2009 11:42 PM

Well, I'm going to dump a whole load of pictures that I've took...

The right side was a little narrower than the left side, so I put some .10 styrene on it and am in the process of cutting it down to size.

http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...5/IMG_7813.jpg

The left rear wheel flare well thing wasn't the same as the right side, so I ripped it off, along with some putty.

http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...5/IMG_7810.jpg

No worry though, just glued it back on and cut myself another piece of that left side styrene thing since it was messing up the shape pretty badly.

http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...5/IMG_7811.jpg

Got rid of the tape as Bondo suggested and thanfully there wasn't much paint leakage (just a little smidge) and there wasn't any sticky residue ;)

http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...5/IMG_7805.jpg

http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...5/IMG_7807.jpg

And here are some pics of the body as its going to sit for a while X( I have to put it away by orders of the parents.

http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...5/IMG_7802.jpg

http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...5/IMG_7800.jpg

http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...5/IMG_7803.jpg

http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...5/IMG_7797.jpg

And somewhere down the line (I forgot when) I had a bit of putty leftover (again) So I made Puttybob Squarething.

http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...5/IMG_7816.jpg

C&C ;)

trans_am_lover_79 07-29-2009 12:05 AM

That ride is gona be awesome when your done. How much time do you think you have into it so far?

Kaze 07-29-2009 02:22 AM

Man, this project is looking great, I can't wait to see its completion, you know for the wheel well arcs using the dremel sanding cylinders to trace the shells arc will shape the putty/styrene.

We really need to get all these guys together... I mean just look at their origins...

Well, for the past few weeks (for minutes at a time) I've been scratch building a intercooler (its not done yet, paint's still drying)

RS's Mustang's BK's intercooler

My half finished scratch built intercooler:

RS vs TK

http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/a...IMG_8053-1.jpg

I really wanna put on some chrome paint!... This is just my first shot at it so I hope the ones I build in the future will be better.

(P.S. This project will be going at slower than snail's pace since school's started)
