i think you should give it a shot. also from wut some ppl do to ther xmods are just crazy and dont seem like money is an issue to them. but if you make some premade rims. try and sell. if duznt go well then you should still make rims upon request. cuz then the buyer should know how much ther paying if ther asking for them to be made. i know i wouldnt mind handing over 25 bucks for custom rims. but money is an issue for me atm. but i def plan on saving up then jump the gun for complete xmods rebuild. and if your makin rims. you very well be on the top of the list to buy. i wuz very impressed with the work on those rims.

You wouldn't install autocad on the CNC computer, you would install it on your own personal machine and create the design there. You could then take that autocad file (or whatever CAD program you used) and import the file into a program like masterCAM, or another CAM program. A CAM program allows you to convert the CAD file into a set of instructions to be read by the CNC machine (G-code in your case).

BIG UPDATE!!!

I made all the minor changed I needed to make and so now I'm just waiting for the rim adapters to arrive. And then I got some help to do a little something extra.

These new style wheels look great, don't they.

http://i474.photobucket.com/albums/r...k/xmods278.jpg

Stock XMOD tires work but are a bit narrow. Do you like the new wheels?

http://i474.photobucket.com/albums/r...k/xmods283.jpg

I hope you like the new style wheels.

Atomic wide tires are a perfect fit. I think the new wheels look pretty good.

The spokes are a bit thin, but I'm already working on that.

Q & C always welcome.

Thanks B1G. With all this great feedback from everyone I am definitely thinking it would be well worth my time to make some to fund my hobby.

NEW STYLES. Not perfect, but you get the idea.

8-spoke swirl.

I'm getting the design changed for these and maybe the spokes will be thicker with the newer design

7-spoke swirl.

These spokes are much better and I'm getting the design changed on them to make them a little nicer.

And when I made them I made four of each but I didn't notice that the program actually had left and right directional swirls and I only made one direction, so if the new design turns out there will be left and right wheels.

you should try some sort of affroad wheels but anyways they are coming along great wish i had access to somthin like that :D

Ska_Ranger 10-24-2009 05:08 PM

These look great, are you using pre-made blanks? If not some deeper dish stuff would be awesome for the future!

Sorry - i know im posting right after myself but.. just an idea, is the material easy to cut? Could you sell the blanks for people to cut their own designs with a small dremmel tool? That would be kool.

No, no pre-made blanks. All are custom made. But deep dish would be awesome wouldn't it. (keep reading.)
I suppose that's is theoretically possible to cut with a dremmel but I don't know how easy it would be or how good they would look.

What I did manage to get done this week before I received my adapters was some deep dish +2 offset wheels

It's a bit hard to tell from this angle...

http://i474.photobucket.com/albums/r...k/xmods309.jpg

...but the rears do stick out a bit more.

http://i474.photobucket.com/albums/r...k/xmods313.jpg

Same on the truck.

I was thinking the same thing.

http://i474.photobucket.com/albums/r...k/xmods315.jpg

And for those of us who want bigger wheels

http://i474.photobucket.com/albums/r...k/xmods316.jpg

A perfect fit with no rubbing.

Q & C - keep them coming. Thanks.

XMDrifter 11-01-2009 10:15 PM

Ska_Ranger 11-04-2009 03:43 PM
