Mitsu Pajero.

Still, the aptly named Honcho is the 4x4 master race you're looking for;

Nope, not a LC80. In fact, it's not a Toyota.

Haha, thanks! Nope, not a Pathfinder. But it is a Nissan. :)

Lucky7 08-12-2011 10:17 AM

Lights really set it off. I ended up getting the Axial light kit but did debate the 3Racing set. Have not installed the turn signals since I was unsure where to put the rear ones but I like where you installed them so I think I may put mine there as well.

Update: So I've been driving my SCX10 in the water/mud a lot recently...

http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...0/P8170690.jpg

http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...0/P8170697.jpg

http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...0/P8170695.jpg

http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...0/P8170692.jpg

And I think that it is time to take it apart and re-build it. So I've seen that people like to use marine grease inside the axles and tranny to prevent metal parts from rusting. Unfortunately, I couldn't find marine grease locally. Instead, I've picked up a Castrol multi-purpose chassis grease. I read through the label from the back, sounds similar to the purpose of the marine grease. So I decided to give it a try.

http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...IMGP0148-5.jpg

I've took the entire tranny and axles apart for clean up and re-lube with the Castrol grease.

Here are some before and after compression pics.

http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...IMGP0150-5.jpg

http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...IMGP0149-4.jpg

When I took the front axle apart, it was a lot worst than what the rear axle looks like.

http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...0/P8180714.jpg

Rusty bearings.

http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...0/P8180715.jpg

So I took some sandpapers and cleaned up the rust as much as I can.

http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...0/P8180692.jpg

The bearings are looking like new again.

http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...0/P8180693.jpg

Also rebuild the motor.

http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...0/P8190699.jpg

http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...0/P8190700.jpg

After all the cleaning, it's like a new SCX10 again.

Only one question.. how much do you charge per vehicle for cleaning and detailing? :)

Looks fantastic. As always.

Cheers,
Kyle

I bought my motor and ESC as a combo. It let you pick 35T/45T/55T, I picked 45T, it's a nice motor, very easy to maintenance. The motor have a lot of torque, but not too much speed, it's a slow walking pace. I'm looking to order the Cobalt Puller 7T motor once they are in stock.

Lucky7 08-23-2011 09:07 AM

The hobby shop I got my Honcho at only had Venom motors. I got a 55t and it works quite well but I have been thinking I would like a little more speed and have been looking at the 35t HH motors. Want something faster but still a scale trail truck speed.

The 35T are what most of the scaler guys use. It have a little more speed, won't be extremely fast.
